Filipino-Canadian duo MANILA GREY, is set to glide through “Shibuya” in the music video for their latest track. The music video sees the duo set against the vibrant yellow of a Lamborghini, drawing inspirations from the song’s key motif of the named supercar drifting sideways.

The audio which was premiered on Travis Mills’ Beats 1 show on the day of its release, “Shibuya” again sees MANILA GREY craft a trap-infused track that draws on the pair’s Asian heritage. “Shibuya” comes on the heels of “Blue Vegeta” which was released in July.  Both tracks were recorded with producer and longtime collaborator Azel North and will be featured on MANILA GREY’s forthcoming album “No Saints On Knight Street” due for release later this year.

“Shibuya” is a track that features vigorous production powered by ’80s-indebted synths, along with an addictive hook: “Yellow lambo suicide / I’m in Shibuya moving sideways / Still ride through my mind / Still ride through my mind”.

The duo described their upcoming project during an interview with Scout MagazineNeeko, the ½ of the duo has this to say: “No Saints on Knight Street” is a lot more potent. We brought it back to Vancouver’s moods. It’s definitely more tied to our personal lives. Back when we did “Palm Shade” we had nothing, we were plotting heavy. Now on “Knight Street,” we’re just in our bag. [laughs]”. Soliven added, “On the music side, we made it a point to be a lot more honest. We wanted to capture certain moments in our lives, the tours, the constant work, the deep cut nights, the energy we gave our city. We just wanted to paint that whole vibe from the somberness to the aggression to the blissfulness.”

Garnering over 50 million streams across Spotify and YouTube in just 2 years, MANILA GREY are recognized as one of the leading lights from the new wave of hip-hop and R&B acts that have emerged from the Canadian west coast. The duo broke onto the scene with hits ‘Timezones’ and ‘Silver Skies’, building on their now signature high-speed night rider world. Since their inception, the duo have received support from the likes of music tastemakers Complex who named them as ‘2020 Ones To Watch’, Hypebeast, RESPECT Mag, Lyrical Lemonade and Hot 97.

With a steady stream of acclaimed releases under their belt and an album on the way, MANILA GREY continue to prove that lockdown is no obstacle for creating great music.
