READY TO LEARN FROM PUPIL?

Ely Buendia and his gang Pupil look damn good in this month’s cover story shoot, inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. But if there’s one thing Buendia (who was recently named one of local music’s Rock Legends) knows, it’s that looks don’t mean shit unless you write good songs.

SCARY SHIT IS ALWAYS FUN

Heavy metal practitioners and recent WBOB 2007 finalists Bloodshedd have been the main driving force of the underground genre this year, and they’re ready to keep it that way for quite a while as they’re still fired up from their recent effort “Eye of the Pessimist.”

SIMPLY SMASHING

The Smashing Pumpkins is back! One of the greatest bands to ever defy the spirit of music labeling (shattering the boundaries of grunge, alternative, and basically rock n’ roll in the 90s…) return to form, and they’re out with a hot new album, Zeitgeist.

WHEN BREW MET FOO

The Dawn guitarist/NU 107 disc jockey Francis Reyes is the luckiest guy we know… always hanging out and chilling with the big boys. But we love reading about his adventures and interviews, and this time he send in a whopper of a feature: meeting Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and bassist Nate Mendel in Singapore, who were there to promote their latest disc “Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace.”
