INSIDE THIS ISSUE:

STONEFREE WANTS YOU TO LISTEN

With “pogi rock” being all the rage these days, the four boys of Stonefree transcend their good looks by actually playing great, fresh-sounding music via their intense live shows and their remarkable full-length debut, Hibiscus.

FIVE-YEAR FUNK

While we’re on the subject of (previously) struggling bands, there probably isn’t a more appropriate time to feature longtime funk rockers 18th Issue than now, since they’ve finally released their debut CD under V3 Records after almost five years as a band.

STORY OF THE YEAR

Ever heard of a band that used to crash other people’s gigs just to be able to play? Not that we encourage that sort of practice, but the four close friends that comprise Join The Club did exactly that not so long ago. But now that these pop-punkers have released their debut album, Nobela, getting gigs isn’t much of a problem anymore.

THE FAMILY THAT PLAYS TOGETHER…

While some of us couldn’t exactly imagine being in a band with our siblings, the two brothers and one sister that comprise three-fifths of sessiOnroad have continually proven otherwise, having release two excellent albums and playing countless gigs in both their native Baguio and their recently adopted home of Manila. The band talks about life and the current success of their latest full-length effort, Suntok Sa Buwan.

GOOD EVENING MAKATI!

Just when we thought Makati bar-hoppers were generally finicky types who couldn’t stand loud rock n’ roll, a number of venues that cater to connoisseurs of distorted guitars and not-quite-pop music have suddenly popped up all over the country’s main financial district.
