He’s Jerome Abalos- solo artist, vocalist for progressive metal group Death By Stereo and all-around nice guy. Out with his latest independent solo effort Muli (released under his label JAS Entertainment Productions), Abalos aims to take masa music up a few notches and eliminate the notion that local pop is mediocre and brainless.

Well, most of the bands we’ve jammed into this feature ARE audibly female-fronted, but hell- it’s the over-the-top ‘tudes and the overall coolness of these women vocalists that got us scrambling to our feet and taking down notes about new metal wonder Saydie, experimental pop outfit Paramita, and the art/classy/laidback stylings of Pinoy Stories, Sino Sikat, and Death By Tampon.
