PERIPHERY ARE INDEED EXTRAORDINARY MUSICIANS

With only a month away until PULP Summer Slam 12: The Apostles, PULP Music Editor Cris Ramos offers a beginner’s insight on the dark horse of The Slam’s “Big Six,” Periphery, as he interviews guitarist Jake Bowen about the band’s rise to stardom. Not just for the techies, but for everyone who knows a good tune when they hear one. As a side feature, we’ve also included our “Slam Survival Kit” in this issue, for all of you crazy little kids who plan on going metal thrashing mad at The Slam. A must-have edition for any concert-goer!

ALSO IN THIS ISSUE:

PULP’s been bringing in the best of the best bands in the world, but we also pay tribute to the local Filipino artists who have found their way onstage outside of the country: CARLOS CASTANO, JULIANNE, TECHY ROMANTICS and TAKEN BY CARS. Read about their experiences abroad, as they wave our flag proudly! HIJO also debuts in the pages of PULP, as Nathan Azarcon, Ira Cruz and Vic Mercado tell us about the new group minus former lead singer Bamboo Manalac. Don’t miss the feature on the newest local joints bands and music fans can support and enjoy!
