The P-Pop boy group Yes My Love has just dropped their highly anticipated first EP titled You, Me, & Love. This EP, released under Republic Records Philippines, features five tracks, all of which are carefully chosen covers of classic OPM songs “Laging Naroon Ka” by Jaya, “Hanggang Ngayon” by Kyla, “Gisingin Ang Puso” by Liezel Garcia, “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita” by Roselle Nava, and “Ako Na Lang” by Zia Quizon.

The EP was preceded by the pre-release track “Laging Naroon Ka,” which was made available on all streaming platforms last April 26. The boys have also posted an official visualizer for it, which you can check out below.

Niko Badayos, the group’s leader, explained the concept behind their song choices: “In any kind of relationship, may ‘nagmamahal’ at ‘minamahal.’ We want people to recall the times when they had that in their lives. We also wanted to make music for those who are in love in the present. It’s a great opportunity and an honor to revive these timeless OPM hits. We hope people will give our EP a chance and listen to these five tracks sung by us, a boyband.”

Gab Tagadtad arranged all the songs, while Raizo Chabeldin served as the EP’s overall producer. While You, Me, & Love represents a new era for the five-member group, the EP still features them doing what they do best: serving the kind of singing that no other P-Pop group can. Their vocal performances on all of the EP’s five tracks prove they deserve to be called the “Vocal Heartstoppers of P-Pop” because their harmonies and solos are indeed heartstopping. (If you don’t believe me, check out the ad libs and high notes on “Ako Na Lang.”)

Niko expressed his hopes for the group’s new chapter: “This year’s focus is to establish our rebranding, and that includes offering more songs, genres, and, of course, the vocal capabilities of Yes My Love. Part of the plan is to offer good songs. We can do jazz, pop, R&B, soul, and more. I believe that’s what Yes My Love can offer the P-Pop scene.”

So far, the response to You, Me, & Love has been good. On the evening of its release, the EP quickly soared to the top of the charts, reaching the number one spot on iTunes Philippines and Singapore. It also secured a place on Spotify’s New Music Friday Philippines playlist. The boys also released a video of them reacting to the official visualizer of “Laging Naroon Ka.”

Yes My Love, managed by Cornerstone Entertainment, consists of five members: Niko, RZ, Joshua, Brian, and Jeff. The group officially debuted in March 2023 with their original single “Rhythm.”

You, Me, & Love is now available for streaming on all major music platforms worldwide.
