EMO ROCK ICONS THE USED RELEASE NEW SINGLE “NUMB” AND ANNOUNCE UPCOMING FULL-LENGTH TOXIC POSITIVITY

Arguably one of the most prolific and successful bands to emerge during the early 2000s, iconic emo rock outfit THE USED have been pretty busy these past few months and have finally revealed why.

It all started with last year’s no-holds-barred single “Fuck You,” which was unexpectedly dropped and received by listeners and pundits pretty well. Released October 2022, it seemed to be the perfect return-to-form single, highlighting the band’s ability to fuse catchy choruses and melodies without watering-down the bigness and loudness of their trademark sonic style.

Previously, the band released Heartwork (Deluxe) in 2021, which was an extended version of 2020’s Heartwork. The Deluxe version featured 11 never-before-heard tracks, including collaborations with John Feldmann of GOLDFINGER fame, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker of BLINK-182 and Caleb Shomo of BEARTOOTH to name a few.

And earlier this year, yet another fiery single “People Are Vomit” was released by the band in February.

And just recently, the band – made up of founding members vocalist Bert McCracken and bassist JEPHA, and who are joined by drummer Dan Whitesides and guitarist Joey Bradford – unleashed the dark and moody single “Numb” last April 21st

You can listen to the track here:

Anything is better than this… I just wanna feel something,” McCracken cryptically shared. “No different from anyone else – wanna waste my time but not like this at all; ‘cause I feel numb… does anyone else feel numb?”

With the single’s release came the announcement of an all-new full-length called Toxic Positivity which is scheduled to be out this May 19th, and to be released through the Big Noise label. Having more than 20 years under its collective belt, the band promises that the release will be everything fans have come to know and love from The Used: straightforward, in-your-face, destructive, and vulnerable all at once.

They also shared that they will be hitting the road soon, co-headlining with friends PIERCE THE VEIL on a tour dubbed the Creative Control Tour

We are more than excited with our first tour with Pierce The Veil… we’ve been friends for a long time and I know this will be a tour to remember,” shared McCracken. “We can’t wait for you to hear new music, and we are so fucking stoked and will see you all! PULP
