RED VELVET shook the Korean music industry with the release of their massive debut single “Happiness” in 2014. The song was a hit, garnering over 2 million YouTube views during its first 24 hours of release, and was also the first K-Pop girl group debut song to reach the number 4 spot on the Billboard chart.  In 2015, RED VELVET released their first mini-album, Ice Cream Cake, with an additional member Yeri, making the group a quintet together with Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy. Consequently, this album gained huge traction from fans, becoming the best-selling album in the first half of 2015. RED VELVET’s success followed through as they took home the “New Artist Award” at the 2015 Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards. After this, the group released succeeding albums and hit tracks such as “Bad Boy,” “Psycho” and their latest viral hits “Feel My Rhythm” and “Birthday” which fans can expect to see on this coming concert tour.

Comparable to their huge discography is the large collection of awards they’ve received from music critics and award-giving bodies worldwide. To name a few, RED VELVET has been consistently one of the Best Female Group Awardees throughout recent years. The group has also been dubbed the best K-Pop group alive in 2019 by Billboard, which also named “Red Flavor” as the second-best K-Pop song of the 2010s. They have also been regarded by Time Magazine as one of the best K-Pop groups of this generation. In 2022, the group is also consistent in bagging Bonsang and Best Music Video awards from award-giving bodies in South Korea and Asia.
