Jackson Wang of popular K-pop boy group Got7 has dropped the music video for his highly anticipated collaboration track with Swedish DJ duo Galantis. The track is called “Pretty Please”
It’s been almost half a year since rapper-dancer Jackson Wang released the single “100 Ways”. Finally, on September 4, Jackson returned with collaboration with DJ duo Galantis in a track called “Pretty Please”. The single was written by Jackson himself and serves as his first-ever collaboration track with Galantis (Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw). “Pretty Please” is a song that brings together Jackson’s unique and retro vocals and Galantis’ signature hype EDM beats to depict a story of a man falling in love and confessing his feelings to the person he loves.
“The song itself is a love story about me falling in love with a girl and confessing how much I adore her. I wrote the treatment, directed the video visually and creatively, and edited it. Growing up as a kid, I watched a lot of Hong Kong Chinese movies, which were the visual inspirations for this music video. I’ve admired so many actors in those movies, and I thought it’d be interesting to present this love story in the ’90s Hong Kong Chinese vibe, mood, and tone,” Jackson shared in a press release.
An accompanying video was also released on the same day the track was released. The music video’s aesthetic pays homage to Hong Kong Chinese movies and features the same actress and dance group, The Kinjaz, from his previous music video for “100 ways”.

The music video starts off in a restaurant where Jackson and his friends are dining in. Jackson was seen watching a wolf documentary in the first part of the video. “The grey wolves, in particular, are eternally loyal to their partner,” prompts the documentary as Jackson indulges in watching it. As the video progresses, Jackson follows a woman he instantly fell in love with at the restaurant. Jackson tries to impress the girl with his sleek dance moves while being drenched by the rain.
In the days leading up to the release, Jackson released a series of teaser images and clips of the music video, such as grainy, horror-themed clips with the track’s title written in red. PULP
